It’s A Jazz Birthday Party – Concert & Wine Bar!
Join us for a jazz celebration of The Jazz Soirée’s first birthday and another of Joseph’s 39th birthdays- Featuring the best of FluteDaddy.
October 4, 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM Soirée Art Gallery and Music Event Center 1003 S. Tejon, Colorado Springs.
The Jazz Soirée is celebrating a first birthday on Friday October 4 in the usual ways. We’ll have friends, fun, cake and more of what we are becoming known for – an extraordinary music experience. This month, we feature the FluteDaddy Sextet and special guests in a three hour edition of The Jazz Soirée.
Violins At A Jazz Party?
Is that the sound of violins I hear? No, not violins but the sounds of two digital instruments – an electric keyboard and a synthesizer. These instruments can sound like a string section, an ethereal choir, a hammond organ and more. Master keyboard players David Hanson and Brad Bietry together will create a rich texture of sounds that might sometimes be reminiscent of Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Jack McDuff or even Montovani.
The Best of TJS, Old and New
The special three set show will include favorites from our first year and we’ll add some new tunes too. The two keyboards will be joined by Colorado jazz icon Alan Joseph on guitar, former Spyro Gyra bassist Kim Stone, drummer percussionist Dennis Bueno in what may be a farewell performance and yours truly on both C flute and alto flute. Our musician friends are invited to come and sit in, so do expect some fun surprises too.
The Wine Is Fine – It’s My Birthday Too and I’m Still Lyin’
Michaela continues to surprise and delight guests with her “secret stash” wine selections and might have a birthday wine up her sleeve.
I’ll tip a glass to celebrate another of my 39th birthdays (October 3) and we’ll toast several other Libras too (Alan Oct 5 and others)
Tickets for this special event are priced the same: $12 in advance and $16 day of the show. Early reservations are recommended.
We are looking forward to a very fun evening. Please join us.
